Why does your coffee taste so good?

Because we obsess over every step. It's in the name.

We start with specialty-grade Arabica, roast it in small batches using an air-roasting process, and ship it fresh so it reaches you at its peak for drinking. Better beans, careful roasting, and coffee that hasn't been sitting on a shelf for months. That's most of the secret.

How do you roast your coffee?

We air roast, sometimes called fluid bed roasting.

Instead of tumbling the beans in a hot metal drum, we lift and roast them in a stream of hot air. The beans stay in constant motion, so they roast evenly and we get tight control over every batch. The result is a smooth, flavorful cup with no bitter aftertaste.

What is air roasting, exactly?

Air roasting uses hot air rather than a heated drum to roast the coffee. The beans float on a bed of air and stay moving the whole time, which means they roast evenly from every side. The chaff, the papery skin that comes loose during roasting, gets carried off in the airflow.

For a small craft roaster like us, air roasting means more control over how each batch develops and more room to bring out the flavors we want in the cup. Smooth, clean, and easy to drink every day.

Which grind should I choose?

Match the grind to how you brew. Not sure? Drip Grind works for most setups.

  • Whole Bean keeps your coffee freshest. Grind it right before you brew.

  • Espresso Grind is a fine grind for espresso machines.

  • Drip Grind is a medium grind for drip coffee makers, pour overs, and refillable single-serve pods.

  • French Press Grind is a coarse grind for French press and cold brew.

How should I store my coffee?

Airtight, opaque container, somewhere cool and dry. Not the fridge.

Good news: the resealable bag your coffee ships in is already built for this. It's opaque, it seals, and it has a one-way valve. Just press the air out, zip it shut, and keep it in the pantry or on the counter. No need to transfer it anywhere.

If you'd rather use your own airtight, opaque container, that works too. What matters is keeping out oxygen, light, heat, and moisture. Those are what wear coffee down over time. Skip the refrigerator and freezer for coffee you're drinking day to day. The temperature swings and moisture do more harm than good.

How long does coffee stay fresh?

Coffee is at its best in the first few weeks after roasting. It won't spoil after that, but the flavor slowly fades. Our advice: buy what you'll drink in about three to four weeks, store it well, and enjoy it while it's at its peak. It's also why we roast to meet demand instead of stocking shelves.

How fresh will my coffee be when it arrives?

Fresh. We roast to meet demand and ship shortly after roasting, so your coffee arrives at its peak for drinking, not months past it like a lot of grocery store coffee.

Do you have decaf?

We do, and it's genuinely good. The Devil Made Me Decaf is a sugarcane-process decaf from Colombia, sweet and chocolatey without the flat, hollow taste decaf is known for. Perfect for late afternoons or anyone cutting back on caffeine.

How much caffeine is in your coffee?

About the same as any other specialty coffee.

We don't publish exact caffeine numbers, but our coffee lands right in line with typical specialty-grade Arabica. Roast level makes less of a difference here than most people expect. And if you want to skip the caffeine altogether, The Devil Made Me Decaf has you covered.

Do you offer coffee subscriptions?

Yes. A subscription keeps your favorite roast showing up on a schedule you choose, so you never hit that sad empty-bag morning. Change roasts, adjust the timing, or cancel whenever you need to. No hoops.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free on every order over $50. Orders $50 and under ship at one low flat rate. We pick the best shipping method for each package at ship time so your coffee arrives fresh and ready to brew.

We currently ship within the continental U.S. (the lower 48). No Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, or Mexico for now.

How long until my order arrives?

We ship within 48 hours of your order, and often faster. After that, delivery time depends on where it's headed.

We roast and pack quickly so your coffee spends its time in transit fresh, not sitting on our end. Once it's on the way, arrival just comes down to your distance from Tennessee.

Where can I buy your coffee?

A few ways to get your hands on it:

  • Online, anytime, at obsessivecoffeedisorder.com

  • On local shelves. We're carried by a growing list of shops and markets. See the current list on our Where to Find Us page.

What is your return policy?

Because coffee is a fresh, consumable product, we can't accept returns or exchanges. But if something isn't right with your order, email us at support@obsessivecoffeedisorder.com and we'll make it right. You can read our complete Return Policy here.

Where do your beans come from?

We source specialty-grade Arabica, scoring 82 or higher, from growers around the world, chosen for quality and responsible sourcing. Then we roast it in small batches right here in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

How does buying your coffee support mental health?

Our name is a wink. The mission behind it is serious.

A portion of every purchase goes to mental health organizations in our community. Our best-selling medium roast, Happy Medium, carries the memory of Dylan, our Golden Retriever, and supports Nashville Therapy Pets. Because everyone deserves a little emotional support.
