Our Happy Medium roast is a custom blend of Arabica beans cheerfully chosen to provide a smooth, full-bodied cup of coffee with tasting notes of chocolate and toasted almonds.

This roast is especially close to our hearts - because it carries the face of our dog Dylan, who we lost to cancer in 2024.  Dylan was our happy place, and now he’s the heart of Happy Medium.  In his honor, we’re donating a portion of every Happy Medium sale to Nashville Therapy Pets, a nonprofit that brings comfort and connection through certified therapy animals.  Every cup you brew supports their mission - and helps us keep Dylan’s memory alive.

How to use it?

Use this coffee in any of your favorite brewing methods including drip, pour over, French press, espresso, and cold brew.

This smooth, easygoing coffee features a medium-light body and a medium-bright acidity, creating a balanced, approachable cup that's lively without being sharp.  It's lighter than Day Dream and more mellow than Then It Dawned on Me, making it an ideal everyday roast for just about any coffee drinker.

 

Flavor-wise, expect creamy milk chocolate notes paired with the warm, nutty comfort of toasted almond.  It's soft, familiar, and incredibly drinkable - delicious black, but equally good with a splash of cream or a touch of sweetness.

How We Roast

We use an electric fluid-bed (air) roasting process that lifts and roasts the beans on a stream of hot air instead of tumbling them in a hot metal drum.  

During the roast, the chaff naturally separates and is removed - rather than being baked back into the coffee.  This helps prevent bitter, smoky flavors and keeps the cup clean and smooth. 

Every batch is roasted hands-on by our founder and roaster Adam, who oversees the process from start to finish - from weighing the green coffee to dialing in the roast profile to cooling and packaging the final beans. Nothing is automated, rushed, or outsourced.  Each batch gets the time, attention, and care it deserves.
